We believe that sustainability, in its broadest sense, is inherently circular. To us, this means operating in a way that meets the needs of today's generation without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own.
This means evaluating the economic, social and environmental impacts and risks across our entire value chain – from sourcing ingredients and manufacturing to sales and distribution. We have a responsibility to make decisions that balance these impacts for our stakeholders, as well as for society and the communities around us.
Developing new products is part of our DNA. It means continuously reviewing our product portfolio and seeking new ways to create innovative and improved products with greater added value. We are equally committed to continuously improving our production and procurement processes - it's simply part of who we are.
We closely monitor changing consumer preferences, regularly evaluate our own operations and processes, and follow global best practices in sustainable food production, including assessing sustainability-related risks and impacts. Together, these efforts shape our approach to sustainability - one that starts with creating value for consumers in our local markets.
Rīgas piena kombināts has identified three sustainability priorities that contribute to a healthier, more resource-efficient and fairer world. These priorities address environmental, social and governance (ESG) impacts and risks identified through our Double Materiality Assessment conducted in 2025.
Optimise production processes and minimise waste generated during manufacturing.
Continuously expand our product portfolio and develop innovative products that contribute to healthier everyday choices.
Improve the everyday lives of our employees and everyone connected to our business through supportive and ethical partnerships.

What Does It Mean?
We have improved the recipes and/or packaging of a growing number of our products to support our sustainability goals of Improving Well-being and Reducing Environmental Impact.
Every year, we develop around 20 new or improved products, nearly half of which meet our "Better for You and the Environment!" criteria.
We also continuously review and improve our packaging solutions. Our goal is that by the end of 2026, more than 90% of the packaging we use will be fully recyclable while using less plastic.
We are gradually introducing the "Better for You and the Environment!" label across all qualifying products.
