"Ekselence" dessert ice cream brand expands its range with a Tiramisu flavour novelty
"Food Union" dessert ice cream brand "Ekselence" is offering a special novelty this winter season – Tiramisu flavoured ice cream in a convenient and fully recyclable 1-litre format. It has been created for unhurried enjoyment at home, sharing with family or savouring with a spoon like a true festive dessert. Investments in the development and launch of the novelty on the Latvian market amount to approximately EUR 15,000.
Novelties from the "Ekselence" ice cream brand reach the market several times a year, and it is during the winter season that they are most often offered in multi-portion packages. This year, ice cream is increasingly becoming a home dessert enjoyed in peaceful moments as an alternative to classic confectionery products. The new Tiramisu flavoured "Ekselence" ice cream embodies this trend especially vividly, offering a rich, multi-layered taste experience in dessert format.
The novelty recipe is based on refined cream ice cream, complemented with pieces of biscuits and aromatic coffee sauce. On the outside, the ice cream is coated with a generous layer of cocoa, which further enhances the authentic Tiramisu flavour and allows this world-favourite dessert to be enjoyed in a new interpretation – as "Ekselence" ice cream.
"Food Union" ice cream brand manager Ģirts Liniņš emphasises: "This new Ekselence ice cream is, in its very essence, an excellent homage to the king of world desserts – Italian Tiramisu. Italy is not only the birthplace of this legendary dessert, but also one of the great ice cream cultures, where quality, balance of flavours and respect for classics have always been core values. That is why the Tiramisu concept pairs so naturally with excellent ice cream – moreover, both are united by the most essential thing: sweet cream. When creating this recipe, we did not simply transfer the legendary dessert into ice cream, but with respect and a creative approach transformed it into an ice cream dessert that preserves the character of Tiramisu while offering a new, unhurriedly enjoyable experience".
The new Tiramisu flavoured "Ekselence" ice cream is gradually arriving in the freezers of Latvian stores, while from January 2026 it will be widely available to shoppers. It is also planned that next year the new flavour will be available in HoReCa format.
